Owed to truckers

Early in my career, I met a guy that worked for the volunteer services overseas or VSO. Over the years, I have watched his history as he worked with truckers across Africa, another regions to improve safety for them, and others roads of all shapes and sizes and conditions.

He was always very practical about placements of his volunteers. He wanted to make sure the foundations of organizations and even structures were sustainable after his volunteers went home. I know he continues to carry that belief today..

Fast forward about five years ago I met a trucker, long haul trucker. Of course he shared photos of beautiful lands around America and Canada. Occasionally roads closed an accident lane his job.

I learned watching and listening over the years. I have gained a whole other appreciation of the truckers reality first. The risks and hours. The weight and power of the trucks to control: especially on mountains.

I use the trucks lights, speed and common sense to help guide my driving. They are truly the experts.
