Route 66: Day 7

My expectations to find what I needed and afford to get back on the road safely in Oklahoma or New Mexico did not work out.  Either way friends and family in Arizona I proceeded with care.

Having had this experience earlier in the year with other tires that were just old, I felt confident that I would be able to recognize the deterioration of the tires and any signs that I needed to get off the road.

Ended up driving to Phoenix where I have travelled for 20 years or more. Made me feel very comfortable to be in a city. I have familiarity with the auto districts and had many choices for accommodations and affordable prices.

So I stayed in the Van Buren St. area close to 29th St. in Phoenix and found a great tire shop. It took a while to get the money from our Canadian banks but they had me back on the road with four new tires half the price of my first quote up north.
